Public Performance: Eric Bascom and Carl Hopkins will be performing at The Apple Place, Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. I am looking forward to bringing my good friend and one of Western Massachusetts' greatest guitarist players, Carl Hopkins, with me to The Apple Place. We'll be performing a variety of blues, some originals, and popular music for the whole family to enjoy in one of the area's prettiest outdoor settings. This performance is weather dependent and will be cancelled in the event of rain.

I will be presenting my lecture with a live music performance from my series, "Eric Bascom Presents in Celebration of Our Nation's 250th Anniversary". This will be my program on "The Music of James Taylor", one of our nation's most loved singer/songwriters, and a resident of Massachusetts. The lecture will include his early days growing up in Chapel Hill, NC, to his start in New York City and beyond as one of America's music icons.

I love playing music at The Apple Place. It's a beautiful spot to play where the performance area is set up right next to their apple orchard. The Apple Place features freshly baked goods, a wonderful Ice Cream Shoppe serving both hard and soft ice cream treats, along with a few farm animals for the kids to enjoy. The Apple Place is a beautiful little gem located right on Rte. 83 just before the Somers, CT state line. This performance is weather sensitive, and will be cancelled in the event of rain.

Public Performance: I love playing at the Lenox's Farmer's Market. Amy and her talented team do such a great job bringing the best local fresh produce and products to this important and convenient Farmer's Market all season, but August is a very special time as the bounty of the season's harvest is at its best. Stop by and see why. I'll be performing a variety of selections of both popular songs, some blues. and standards from the Great American Song Book all in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of our Nation.

NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, this performance will move indoors to the White Lion Brewing Company located in Tower Square at 1500 Main St., Springfield, MA 01103. In our celebration of the Music of Miles Davis will feature Eric Bascom, guitar; Ed Brainerd, trumpet; and Jason Schwartz, double bass violin, The Eric Bascom Trio thanks Ray Berry and the White Lion Brewing Company for providing this concert performance.

The Autumn foliage is just beginning and colors the Town of Lenox in very special way. I'll be there playing guitar and singing , along with my good friend, Ed Brainerd, on trumpet and flugelhorn. Well performing a variety of jazz, blues, original compositions, and popular music, along with a few old and new standards from the Great American Song Book and Beyond. Public Performance and Lecture: "American Blues" by Eric Bascom. This presentation will offer a historical context of this iconic and original American musical art form from its roots beginning in the pre-turn of the 20th century to our modern times. Eric will discuss the evolution of the blues in some of its many forms, and will demonstrate through performance some of the key evolutionary periods of this musical art form that shaped American popular music from Tin Pan Alley and Broadway, to jazz, rhythm & blues, rock'n' roll, Motown and beyond.

The Eric Bascom Trio in performance for The New England Design Awards in Architecture. Private Event. We'll be playing a variety of jazz classics, originals, blues, along with a selection of standards from the Great American Song Book. This will be great fun!
